Project Description

PLATE

Chinese Style 1735-1755

  • Tin-glazed earthenware

  • Diam. 39cm

Decorated in blue chiaroscuro, it presents the characteristic motifs of the chinoiserie series: birds, oriental and grotesque characters, insects and flowery branches. It shows the influence of Dutch manufactures in the distribution of the compartmentalized brim. Signed on the back and in blue “Soliba” by Miguel Soliva, painter from Alcora, who died in 1755.
